Considered one of the best Japanese sports cars, the Lexus LFA stands as the pinnacle of Japanese automotive engineering. The LFA is regarded as one of the rarest supercars and arguably the best-sounding naturally aspirated V10 car to ever exist. Some might even compare listening to that V10 symphony to a Mozart masterpiece.

With only 500 units produced worldwide during its production run, of which 190 graced the American market, the LFA is a rare species in a world of supercars. What’s even rarer is coming across a used Lexus LFA for sale. Well, we have stumbled upon one such gem on Exotic Car Trader.
Used Lexus LFA V10 for Sale: What’s the Deal?
Well, to start off with, the LFA in question is a 2012 model year and is up for grabs with an asking price of $975,000. This LFA is pretty much brand new considering it has only 4,400 miles on the odometer. The car comes with the official Lexus luggage kit and is painted in the ‘Whitest White’ shade on the body and the wheels are painted in Dark Premium shade.
This car is reportedly number 205 of the 500 LFAs ever made. There is carbon fiber all over (and under) the car. The brakes are carbon ceramic, and the LFA is, of course, powered by its iconic F1-sounding 4.8L naturally aspirated V10. Based on the description on the Exotic Car Trader website, this car is one of just 27 non-Nürburgring Package LFAs painted in the dazzling ‘Whitest White’.

Why the Lexus LFA is Gaining Popularity Among Collectors?

Why is the LFA so expensive, you ask? Well, it’s a classic supply and demand scenario amplified by the iconic image of the LFA. This usually results in inflating prices for such limited-production vehicles. Considering only 500 Lexus LFAs were made, and production literally only lasted two years, the recent surge in the exorbitant prices of these cars is obvious.

Back in 2011, the original MSRP of the Lexus LFA without any options was $375,000, and the Nürburgring Edition started at $445,000 in the US. The market sentiments were not in favor of Lexus back when it launched, and the price tag was considered pretty steep for a “Lexus” by some people (bet they regret not buying one now). The car was criticized for its suspension, which was not tuned for city roads, and its transmission.

On the other hand, professionals praised it as a bargain considering the driving experience on offer. Jeremy Clarkson to this day considers the Lexus LFA as the best car he has ever reviewed.
“If somebody offered me, the choice of any car that had ever been made, ever. I would take a dark blue LFA, that’s how much I love this thing.” – Jeremy Clarkson

All in all, it’s safe to say the car has gained a massive fan following years after its launch and appreciated in value—a lot. Auctioning for twice their original prices, the LFA is now gaining a reputation and value among enthusiasts and collectors due to its rarity and the distinct engine and engineering involved. The LFA is slowly shifting into the realm of ultra-expensive collector cars, such as the Ferrari F40. And since the car has aged like fine wine, it definitely deserves it.
